Intellectual property is the group of legal rights regarding people creations or inventions. These rights include patent, copyright, trademark and trade secret rights.
- Trademark- word, name, symbol, or device used to indicate the source of goods and to distinguish them from others. Trademark right can be used to prevent others from using a similar mark.
- Copyright- a trademark that has been registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, which no one else can use.
- Patent- legal grant issued by a government permitting an inventor to exclude others from making, using, or selling a claimed invention during the patent’s term.
