James J. Kobza
James J. Kobza is a native of Michigan. He holds a Bachelors of Arts degree from Sophia University (an affiliate of Georgetown University) in Tokyo, Japan, where he attended while in the Air Force. He then earned his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Michigan Law School.
Jim has practiced law in Muskegon County since 1957, with specialties in condemnation law, property and probate. He has worked for clients such as the Michigan Department of Transportation for over 40 years, and the Muskegon County Road Commission, the Cities of Muskegon, Norton Shores and Muskegon Heights. He has also represented thousands of individual clients on matters ranging from criminal law to insurance claims to divorce, now focusing his practice in the areas of Estate Planning and Probate.
Jim is a member of Old Newsies of Muskegon and edits the Old Newsies Newsletter. He also edits the Obiter Dicta, a publication of the Muskegon County Bar Association. Jim has obtained an AV rating in the Martindale Hubbell directory, demonstrating that he is among those attorneys with the highest level of legal ability and a very high adherence to the professional standards of conduct, ethics, reliability and diligence.
Currently Jim practices in the areas of Estate Planning and Probate. He is "of counsel" with the law firm of Williams, Hughes & Cook, PLLC. |
